Dear friends,
Thank you so much for last night’s rehearsal. We got a lot done in terms of "nuts and bolts." I appreciate your promptness to begin at 7pm. Going forward be prepared as follows:
- Go over any portions of the music where you might be struggling. As some members have done, feel free to say "Jim, can we go over this passage again slower?"
- Visions of Sugar Plums for detail (10 minutes max)
- Feliz Navidad for note accuracy. (10 min max)
- Ukrainian Bell Carol for review-dynamics and rhythm. (15 min max)
- Greensleeves for phrasing and dynamics. (20 min)
- Angel’s Carol for balance. (20 min)
- A Christmas Festival runthrough!
After this rehearsal I believe we can begin run throughs of the songs with emphasis on dynamics and expression and REALLY begin to nail down the music!
I will take care of a couple "parts" issues soon. (Heading to SC to see my grandkids.)
